Brighton Wedding Photographer Diary…

Brighton Wedding Photographer Diary…

For the latest in my diary series covering unforgettable weddings and beautiful Sussex wedding venues, I’m going to focus on a particularly special day last summer when Sarah and Toby tied the knot. The ceremony itself took place at Shoreham by Sea’s exceptionally pretty historic church, St Mary de Haura. The reception took place at the Hilton Metropole, one of the city’s most famous and best-loved hotels. And Brighton beach was also a star of the show.

The ultimate in romance – A seaside proposal

Romantic Toby proposed on Brighton’s pebbly beach, something they’ll both remember forever, and the couple commemorated the occasion by having special wedding photos taken on the recently renovated, extremely pretty Brighton Bandstand, right on the seafront.

As with every wedding, some special things really stood out. In this case the young couple’s complete delight in each other and their big day shone through clear and bright. It was genuinely touching, I don’t mind admitting it. I’ve been a professional Sussex wedding photographer for many years but the sheer romance of the occasion gets to me every time. I’m so fortunate to have such a happy job.

Take one stunning vintage Rolls Royce…

The car company stood out too, deserving a special mention. Here’s a vote of thanks to Lewes-based Royalton Chauffeured Vintage Cars, who provide a range of gorgeous classical vehicles for any occasion. Their splendid chauffeured vintage Rolls Royce, spotless in black and cream, was quite something to see, the ultimate in classy luxury and the perfect choice to complement the bride’s lovely creamy frock. They really did push the boat out to help make Sarah and Tobys’ day particularly fun and memorable.

Spectacular flowers courtesy of Walter Smith

Another stand-out memory was the flowers, which were quite simply spectacular, thanks to the seriously talented and artistic Shoreham-based Flowers by Walter Smith. And the Metropole is a hard act to follow too, sophisticated and grand, on Brighton seafront and an increasingly popular Sussex wedding venue.

Brighton Metropole – Historic beach-side sophistication

Right in the beating heart of the city, the intricate red brick Metropole hotel is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships, accommodates as many as 1000 wedding breakfast guests and has a luxurious, recently refurbished events space. It offers 180 fabulous rooms plus an on-site hairdressers, a spa, gym, swimming pool and loads of secure private parking. Perfect.

And what a lovely day it was, warm and sunny and clear, the perfect weather for starting out on an exciting new life together. As usual it was a pleasure and a privilege to be part of such an important day, and play my small part in making it one to remember.

Professional Sussex wedding photos? You’re worth it

I know, as a wedding photographer, I would say this. But sometimes fun amateur snaps on a mobile phone or disposable camera are just not good enough. You need a professional on the case. After all, these memories are meant to last forever. You want to be captured looking your very best by an artist, not just randomly snapped with your mouth wide open or caught forever in strange, unflattering poses by your friends and relatives!

Fun snaps are all part of the occasion, but if you need a professional wedding photographer, Sussex and beyond, to help create beautiful memories of your big day, I’ll be delighted to do my bit. Let’s talk.
